Default need some help please.

Hello all.

A while ago a topic was posting with something along the lines of Anti-farm code, watch it die.

Anyone have a link to that thread for me? i'd really apreciate it.

Search is your friend...you're basically asking for someone else to perform the search for you.

In a nutshell there's no conclusive answer to anti-farm code -
Anet says it doesn't exist, some farmers agree with Anet, others don't.
Some say AoE has no effect on drops, others say kill foes one by one for better drops.

No-one really knows so just play the game instead of wasting time discussing conspiracy theories. The end.

This is probably the most useful discussion into drop rates and anti-farm code.

Well glad "The Final Word" is here to set us all straight. See what you can do to shut down all the other discussion on the various forums. So we can all stop wasting our time here discussing the game.

lol Point taken, i'll pull my head in. All i'm saying is talking about it achieves nothing when Anet are never gonna tell us.

The thread i've linked to has some pretty interesting data that suggests drops are based on a time-based seed. This is the most conclusive evidence we've seen that anti-farm code does not exist based on two people time-syncing into the same location. As long as the mob composition is the same, 99% of the drops will be the same for both players. AoE vs single foe doesn't matter, mob order doesn't matter...the easy conclusion to draw (though not necessarily "the final word") is that drops are based on a random server-based timestamp, not the client's repeated farming of the same location.

Personal experience tells me that drops do decay over time, but what can we do about it? Sweet FA. Can we prove it? No we can't. Are my drops the same as the next guy farming the same spot? No they're not.

Some guys get lucky, some don't. Just play the game and don't sweat the small stuff.
